Biatain® Silicone foam dressing, giving the best of foam and silicone in one wound care dressing now available. Biatain Silicone, the latest product in the Biatain wound care range, has just been launched. Silicone dressings are gentle on the skin, as well as being easy to remove and reposition with minimal pain to the patient. Foam dressings provide superior absorption, fluid management and flexibility. Biatain Silicone combines the gentleness of silicone with the effectiveness of foam.
"It gives health professionals what they have asked us for: a flexible bandage that can be used for many different kinds of wounds," says Peter Sylvest Nielsen, Vice President of Wound Care Marketing in Coloplast.
Easier for everyone
Biatain Silicone makes life easier for both patients and healthcare professionals.
For patients, its unique design using silicone only for the adhesive border allows full contact between the dressing's foam and the patient's wound, creating an optimal healing environment. It's flexible too, fitting perfectly anywhere on the body - even in awkward places like the elbow or heel, providing comfort and strength.
Healthcare professionals will appreciate its three-part opening, allows doctors and nurses to easily apply the dressing without touching the adhesive, greatly minimising the risk of infection and dressing waste. Patients and healthcare professionals benefit from the dressing being easy to remove and reposition without causing pain.
Extensive development
Developed following consultations with more than 1,000 nurses and doctors in five countries, Biatain Silicone is available in France now and will be rolled out to the rest of the world throughout 2010.
