Hi all
I just wanted to let you all know about the spectacular weekend that Marie and I had in Dublin.
We went along to the annual Spina Bifida world congress in Ireland and I tell you we were busy. Peristeen is not yet readily available for our users in Southern Ireland, so our stand was constantly busy and crowded.
As part of our stand we had a demonstration unit and it was soooo popular. We had several demonstrations, but many wanted to get hands-on and try it themselves. And they were more than welcome to. I’m certain that was a good decision, as it allowed people to get a real understanding of how the product works and how easy it is to use.
I’m certain I’m not the only one who feels this way, but one of the best things about of participating in a congress like this is to meet a lot of our end-users. Of the many people I spoke with whilst I was here, I especially remember two.
I met many parents to children with Spina Bifida who were really eager to get started on using the product, but one parent stood out. She started crying when she was introduced to Peristeen. And with good reason.
Throughout many years, she’s been helping her daughter irrigate and had given up on the thought that her daughter would ever be independent. But with Peristeen she can. She was so taken back that she’s actually willing to purchase the product herself if not given the support from clinician's to get it. That’s how great she thinks it is!
And then there was Colette Darcy. Colette works for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus, Ireland and is a family support worker. She provides support to individuals whom are struggling getting equipment and support. She helps them! Colettes drive and passion for these individuals was so strong and they’re lucky to have her.
All in all, the congress was a success and I’m sure that the word has spread – that Coloplast products really do make a difference in people’s lives.
Kind Regards
Teresa
