Coloplast sponsors India's national stoma education programme.
That programme has just launched a brand new website. (The website contains images that may be unsettling.)
"With the website ready, we're now ready to enroll the first team of nurses in the web based training programme," says Access to Healthcare project leader, Per Ole Nielsen.
"I'm excited to see what we'll be able to harvest from this project. Hopefully we're able to use similar models within Wound Care or Continence Care and transfer best practice to other ostomy programmes outside of India."
The national programme is one of our three Access to Healthcare projects in India. It aims to train 1,400 stoma care nurses. At the current moment there are only 40 stoma care nurses in India, and 100,000 people living with a stoma.
